This week's New Yorker magazine has an article on the tugboat business and Brian McAllister. My dad sold his tugboat company to Brian McAllister. The article says he is litiguous and sues people frequently. Been there, done that. Yes he sued my father and my father sued him. Read this so you can see what my baby brother Andy does for a job.

I enjoyed reading the account of your life as a Tugboat Captain. I am the wife of a tugboat capt for the past 17 yrs, and your story restores my faith and puts the stardust back in my eyes. He works on the Chesapeake Bay. This past year, our time apart, has become wearisome, mostly because our teenage son has been sowing some wild oats, and I'm left alone to worry and keep a vigilant watch, which has been stressful, and has made me feel resentful of my husnad's job. Overall, though, it truly is a romantic, idyllic & adventuresome life, and I'm proud to have been on the journey. Afterall, even for a landlubber, the teenage years can wreac havoc (sp).

Nice article. I work on a tug for Moran in New York , but I live in Conway. I'll try to see your tug next time I'm in Staten Island.
It would be nice if you could post some pictures to go with this article.
